Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 August 2026
1. Who we are
GradDesk (“the Service”) is operated by GradDesk. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@graddesk.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Paid plans renew automatically for the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues to the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice before your next renewal. Except where required by law, payments already made are non-refundable. Payments and invoices are handled by our payment provider, who acts as merchant of record and may be listed on your statement.
4. Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to the notes, sources, documents and other material you put into the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us only the limited licence needed to host, back up, process and display Your Content so the Service can work for you, for example, indexing your notes so the assistant can search them. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload, including copyrighted articles, course material and anything containing other people’s personal information.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, infringe copyright, or upload material you have no right to store;
- upload sensitive personal data about others (health, biometric or similar) without a lawful basis;
- attempt to access another user’s account or data, or probe, scan or overload the Service;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without written permission;
- use the Service to produce work you then submit as your own where that breaks your institution’s rules.
6. Academic integrity and AI output
The Service includes AI features that summarise, draft and answer questions. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or simply wrong, including citations. You must verify everything before relying on it, and you are solely responsible for complying with your university’s academic integrity and AI-use policies. The Service is a study aid, not an author of your work.
7. No professional advice
Wellbeing prompts, habit tracking and any content shown in the Service are general educational material. They are not medical, psychological, therapeutic, legal or financial advice, and they do not create a practitioner relationship. If you are struggling, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency service.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may add, change or remove features, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. You can export your data at any time from the Export page, and we recommend doing so regularly.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GradDesk is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, missed deadlines or academic outcomes. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory consumer rights.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold GradDesk harmless from claims, damages and costs arising from Your Content or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
